Welcome to the Center City Literary Festival, an annual event hosted by UNC Charlotte’s Department of English and UNC Charlotte Center City.

The 2017 festival on Saturday, May 6, will feature children’s authors Shelby Bach, Tia Capers, Janaka Lewis, B. Edward Swift, and Connie Williams along with fun kids’ activities such as creation stations (coloring, crafting, and character-building) and scavenger hunts. In the evening, we welcome award-winning authors Nikky Finney, Eduardo C. Corral, Dustin M. Hoffman, and Bryn Chancellor for a reception, readings, discussion, book signings, and socializing.

The children’s events and activities will be from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.; the evening events will be 5-9 p.m., starting with a reception followed by the poetry and fiction readings. A book signing and more socializing will follow the readings. Please see our detailed schedules here.

All events will be held at UNC Charlotte’s Center City Campus, 320 E. 9th Street, Charlotte 28202.

The event is open to the public without charge.
